I never heard of it either, until I saw it in a magazine that my dad picked up recently. I kinda went "meh" at first, since it was listed for the Xbox Live, but when I found it on the Wii Shop Channel for 800 points, I was like "... okay!"
It's kinda fanfic-like, but it totally has nostalgia appeal IMO. And you get to play as King Cecil, Queen Rosa, and Prince Ceodore at various points in the game.
(I haven't played all the way through it yet, so I have no idea how far through the game I already am. I've read that this first installment is disappointingly short, so if I had to take a wild guess as to how far I am, I'd say roughly halfway.)
The DS version of the game is far superior, graphics-wise. Hot dayumn. FF4:AY is graphically more like a cross between the SNES versions of FF4 and FF6.
